Andreas Bulling is a Marie Curie fellow in the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, and a postdoctoral research associate and research group co-leader at the School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. Andreas has pioneered the use of wearable eye tracking and eye movement analysis for context-aware computing. His further research interests include activity and context recognition, multimodal sensing and inference, and cognition-aware systems with applications in ubiquitous computing, human-computer interaction, and personal health monitoring. He received his PhD in information technology and electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland, in 2010.
Geert Brône is a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive and multimodal discourse analysis at Lessius University College Antwerp, Belgium, and an affiliate researcher at the University of Leuven, Belgium. His research has focused on the development and application of empirical methods for the (linguistic) analysis of multimodal interaction, including eye-tracking and gesture analysis. He is currently involved in a number of projects that focus on the (semi-)automatic analysis of eye-gaze data using state-of-the-art object recognition algorithms (in collaboration with T. Goedemê). His further research interests include psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics and cognitive models of creativity. He received his PhD in linguistics from the University of Leuven, Belgium, in 2007.
Shiwei Cheng is an associate professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology at the Zhejiang University of Technology, China. He is the member of ACM and the committee member of ACM SIGCHI China Chapter. His research interests include eye-tracking based human-computer interaction, usability evaluation, UX, and user interface modeling and design in ubiquitous computing. He received his PhD in computer science from Zhejiang University, China, in 2009.
Päivi Majaranta is a researcher at the University of Tampere, Finland. Päivi has been involved in several research projects related to eye tracking, including her work as the scientific coordinator of the European Network of Excellence on Communication by Gaze Interaction (COGAIN, 2004-2009). She is especially interested in the application of eye tracking in gaze-aware natural interfaces and gaze-controlled assistive technology. She received her PhD in Interactive Technology from University of Tampere in 2009; her thesis on text entry by eye gaze was awarded with the Best PhD Thesis in Computer Science in Finland in 2009.
